Frequently Asked Questions

We are here to help with any crisis, anytime, anywhere.

833-229-2683

How much do these Emergency Services cost?

Coverage for emergency services varies by insurance, but our program accepts all insurance, and we also provide services to uninsured youth and adults. Please call us and we can walk you through your coverage.

How long does it take to see a clinician?

After you call us, you can usually expect to see a clinician within an hour. During tourist season, it may take a little longer due to traffic. The Bay Cove Behavioral Health and Wellness Center in Hyannis accepts walk-in appointments for your urgent behavioral health needs. While this is a walk-in, non-appointment service, we do request on weekends and evenings that you call us prior to arriving, to ensure a clinician will be there to greet you.

Do I have to be in a full emergency to call, or can I call when I start to feel like I need help?

Call us at any point in the crisis. We especially encourage calling early on, as it may help avoid the crisis altogether!

Do I have to call myself, or can someone call for me?

Any concerned person may call on behalf of another person. We get calls from teachers, parents, spouses, friends, medical staff, police officers and neighbors calling on behalf of others. Please remember that this is a voluntary service, so if you are calling on behalf of someone, you should feel reasonably sure the person is willing to talk to someone about what is going on with them.

I’m using alcohol or drugs and I think I need help, can I call?

Yes! We invite the community to call with any behavioral health urgent care need, even if you have never been told you have a mental health diagnosis. Substance use is often accompanied by trauma and/or mental illness, and Bay Cove’s clinicians can help you find the best treatment, no matter what the underlying problem is.

I live in Provincetown, is that too far away?

No! We serve the entire Cape, from Bourne to Provincetown.

Can you help me refill my medication?

Yes! Medication appointments are available on an ongoing basis for youth and adults.
